Bringing your darkness into the light

On the day that I made an awesome observation with the moon, I was feeling great, but deep down something was bothering me so I decided to go to for a walk to the supermarket and pick up some things. Whenever I need an answer to something, I look to nature. As I walked, I looked into the sky and saw the waning/crescent moon. It was beautiful and had a star right beside it as if it was a beauty mark on the face of the earth. Again, spirit asked me to observe and I did. As I observed closely I began to see the full moon. Of course the crescent was the lit portion, and the rest was in the shadow of darkness but I could finally see the outline of the full moon. Wow! I was blown back and immediately smiled to myself and thought that's it!

How many of us really dig deep to see the darkness held in ourselves? Like the crescent moon, we all contain a light which if we really focus to get the bigger picture, the darkness will be brought into it. I was not able to notice the darkness the moon had until I wanted to dig deep enough to see the darkness within myself. Have you ever heard the saying "when the student is ready, the teacher shall appear?" To my understanding the moon had given me the message that even in having a little bit of light we are able to conquer darkness. In facing the darkness or negative thoughts, emotions and experiences you create a sense of self balance because then we will not be blinded by the light; to translate.. we will not be fixated on the things that look and feel great externally to hide our darkness or things that feel out of place internally.

In the spiritual realm, it is said that the waning/crescent moon is a time for noticing difficult emotions and negative mental formations and shining our light of awareness on them so that they subside. If your soul has a question, look to nature for the answer. Be still, and wait.
