Change your surroundings, change your life!
Have you been working the same job for a long time? What about seeing the same people consistently for years? Whether it be in a household setting, job setting, or around the neighborhood--you might be suffering from a burn out or what I call a "comfort zone cold." Chances are that your soul desires to experience new people, places and things. Your mind body and spirit may need to be re aligned, balanced and cleansed.
Primary to renewing, restoring and re balancing you must first address the old wounds and bad memories from your upbringing (see article) and work experiences in order to heal from your deeply ingrained conditioning. Changing your surroundings can be temporary or permanent but if the environment that you want to escape from is negative and detrimental, then I suggest you seek permanent change in order to remain holistically healthy.
Here are some ideas for changing your surroundings and experiences:
1. Change your social spots.
Go new places to meet new people. Maybe join community cleanups, or a spiritual group. You don't have to disassociate yourself with those you know but instead of seeing the same people you've seen for years, bring new people into your life who aren't used to seeing you in your old environments. That includes your family members who may continue to treat you in conditioned, dysfunctional ways you were treated as a child.
2. Switch jobs.
It is impossible to live a balanced, holistically healthy life if you're in a work environment that makes you unhappy, bored, or stressed. Find a profession that you are passionate about and enjoy. Money alone isn't going to make you happy in the long run.
3. Take vacation time/ travel.
Even if you are excited about your profession, you still need to take time off. Being a workaholic is unhealthy. Perhaps travel to a retreat away from all electronics and devices and spend time loving yourself. You deserve it!
4. Relocate.
Moving to a new town or country is a big step but worth it if you are up to challenge your strength and heal yourself. Remembering that there is no growth in the comfort zone ensures that you can expect much growth. By moving away from all you know, you discover new great characteristics that you never knew existed within you!
You can be assured that changing your surroundings will change your life for the good. Change looks good on you! Embrace it! Namaste.
